Goals for 2006

These aren't the typical "get in shape/get out of debt/make new friends" resolutions. I did all that in 2005.

  • Have more fun. Play some video games. Watch more movies. Buy a mountain bike and see where it takes me. This is actually a lot harder than it sounds because I feel guilty slacking off.
  • Sleep more. I've had a sleeping disorder since I was a kid. I can sleep 14 hours anytime, anywhere. But I don't allow myself more than 6 hours every night. My poor wife is the one who has to wake me up - bless her heart. So it's time for me to get in touch with my inner Rip Van Winkle
  • Buy my wife some flowers. Or stop and smell the flowers, then buy them for my wife. I never buy flowers for personal reasons - to me they represent death - but it's not about me, it's about her.
  • Stop procrastinating. Just get it out there! I can always update/change/remove things later. I have a bad habit of "tweaking" something until I think it's perfect, but that perfection never comes. Most people don't really care; they would rather see something in progress than nothing at all. Like this list that's two weeks late.

In all honesty, I'll probably start on this list next month. I've got too much work to do right now to slack off entirely, so maybe I should rename this to February-Retroactive Goals for 2006. I'm so pathetic...
